Description: A marvelous Meiji-period image of a man holding a dancing pose, dressed in a festival "matsuri" costume. One leg is exposed. Broad, open umbrella both frames his white head covering and echoes the costume's voluminous stripes and form. Case is said not to be original, though is is period, and of fine handiwork—constructed of traditional, feather-light Kiri wood. 1
