| Description: Several boys gathered at a pool of water are trying to collect fish with small wooden sticks and woven baskets.
Very little is known about the Osaka-based photographer, Toda, except that he was active in the 1930's and early 1940's and worked at a stationary shop called, Marui Yoshi Ten (Marrui Western Paper Stationer).
May 5, 2008: The New Yorker praises Toda's style as, "delicately restrained modernism." 1 |
