Description: Unidentified writing on mount. The Lumière brothers developed and patented the autochrome plate in France, circa 1907. This was the first practical, single-plate method of color photography. The Lumières also invented the first commercially successful celluloid-film motion picture camera projector, introduced in 1895. 1
