| Description: It is very rare to find vintage prints of the Bunraku Puppet Theater by Irie, whose photo retail shop in Osaka was destroyed by U.S. bombing raids in 1945. All the other known prints from this series are believed destroyed. Irie, a well-respected lensman who founded a museum in Nara, Japan (his birthplace), has work in the permanent collections of the Yokohama Museum of Art and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography. 1 |
